A garage door that squeaks, sticks, or slams shut is usually telling you something long before it actually breaks down. A scheduled tune-up lets a technician catch that wear early, so a five-minute adjustment doesn't turn into a weekend without a working door.
Every garage door is a working system of springs, cables, rollers, and hardware that shifts and settles the more it's used. Skipping routine attention doesn't make a door last longer, it just means problems show up unannounced. A tune-up is a focused, honest inspection of the parts that wear down over time, handled before any of them force an unplanned repair call.
Our technicians inspect spring tension and wear, look over every cable for fraying, check rollers and hinges for play, and verify the tracks are still running true. Moving parts get lubricated with a product made for garage door hardware, since a generic household spray on nylon rollers or an opener rail can actually pull in more grime and wear the parts down faster.
We also run diagnostics on the opener's force and travel limits, which can slip out of calibration on their own as the hardware settles with use, and we double-check that the safety reversal sensors are still lined up and reacting correctly. A door can look fine on the surface while a sensor or force setting has quietly drifted underneath.
Once the visit wraps up, you'll get a clear, plain-language rundown of your door's current condition, plus a heads-up on anything approaching the end of its usable life, so you can budget for it instead of getting caught off guard.
Once a year covers most households. If your door is your main entry point and gets opened several times a day, checking it every six months is a safer bet.
We check spring tension and condition, cable and roller wear, track alignment, opener force and travel calibration, safety sensor performance, and lubricate every moving part.
Often, yes. Spotting a worn cable or a spring near the end of its cycle life during a scheduled visit means it gets replaced on your terms, not in the middle of a Saturday morning when the door won't open.
